Platoons from HMS Heron, led by the Queen’s Colours and the Band of the Royal Marines, will march through the streets of Yeovil during the morning of Wednesday 3 June 2015 with colours flying and bayonets fixed.

The parade, which is being organised by Yeovil Town Council with the help of RNAS Yeovilton and Avon and Somerset Constabulary, will give the people of Yeovil the opportunity to commemorate the 70^th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.

The event, which also marks the 75^th anniversary of the commissioning of the Air Station, has been timed to take place between VE Day and VJ Day, and will include a fly-past. Details of the timing of the parade and the route will be released over the coming weeks.
